3D printed pipe adapter

Tailor-made solutions for efficient production processes

• In the modern manufacturing industry, efficiency is the key to success. Companies are faced with the challenge of continuously optimising their production processes in order to remain competitive. 3D printing is becoming increasingly important due to its speed, flexibility and cost efficiency. By using 3D printed adapter cones, we have been able to optimise our internal production processes, saving time, costs and resources, which has led to a significant increase in the efficiency of production steps.

• Adapter cones are used in industrial dust extraction systems to adapt different pipe diameters in suction and pressure lines. They can be used to enlarge small diameters to large diameters and to reduce large diameters. This is particularly useful when adapting accessories & peripherals, e.g. from third party manufacturers, whose diameters do not fit ex works.

• In the past, adapting different pipe adapter diameters was done using tape and manual deformation. Not only does this involve manual effort and handling, but it does not meet the quality standards required in demanding production environments.

• 3D printing, on the other hand, with its high degree of design freedom, allows the geometry to be flexibly adapted so that the adapter can be adapted to different pipes. This allows different components to be seamlessly integrated. With its high degree of design freedom, 3D printing can provide a customised, seamless solution in a reliable and resource-efficient manner.
